Cigar
Family Foundation- In 2001, the Fuente and Newman families established the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation.
The concept of the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation was developed by Carlos Fuente Jr. who was inspired by both the tremendous humanitarian needs of the Dominican people as well as the incredible generosity of the CigarFamily.com members.
The Cigar Family Charitable Foundation has partnered with the Instituto Dominicano de Desarrollo Integral, Inc. (IDDI), on the development of this community complex in the Dominican Republic. Created in 1984, IDDI is one of the principal community development organizations in the Dominican Republic. They often collaborate with various entities of the Dominican Government, as well as national and international corporations.
What sets the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation apart from almost every other not-for-profit is that 100% of every dollar contributed goes directly to charitable purposes. All administrative, legal, accounting, office, website, and other general marketing costs are totally underwritten by the Newman and Fuente families.
The Cigar Family Charitable Foundation is a 501 (C)(3) charitable tax-exempt organization
